We love to switch things up and work with a diverse group of clients at TMRC. Digging into new projects vastly different from the last is one of the things that keeps us excited and inspired to come to work everyday.
That’s why we’re thrilled to team up with Perch Upholstery to develop a logo and aid in branding. Tara Cork, Founder of Perch, implements modern design into old-fashion crafts to create unique pieces her customers love.
Tara recently wrote a piece on her newfound obsession with Felted Marino Wool and we’re loving this convergence of new and old design. Her description of the creative process is one we can relate to here at TMRC – The excitement of a new idea and the inherent attempts and failures that come before finally creating something you’re proud of.
Sometimes I don’t even use the hook, just my fingers. It’s the simplicity of making something that stunning, so quickly that led me here… It was a dream. Absolutely what I had envisioned and after 27 attempts, give or take, I was pleased with the end result.
After discussing Tara’s business and deciding on a message that we needed to convey in her logo and branding, we got started on our own project. Designing a logo can be as simple or complicated as you make it. If you want to convey meaning from an image, it’s typically not a quick and easy task. Here’s what our creative process looks like:
In the end, we came up with this:
In logo design, communication is just as important as the actual design. In order for us to create something both parties are happy with, we need to know what the business stands for and understand its unique personality. Logos and branding are more than just pretty images.
If you’re in need of a logo or other branding, shoot us an email or call. We’re glad to discuss ideas and create something you’re excited to display. Something that’s more than a graphic, but communicates what your business is all about.
